The chief of Bechem – Zongo in the Tano South Municipality in the Ahafo region, Saliki Inusah Salifu has admonished Muslim youth to desist from drugs and other forms of violence.
He said Islam is a peaceful religion therefore disheartening that Muslim youth are always indicted in violence and other crimes in society.
He blamed the situation on the abuse of drugs such as tramadol and marijuana among Muslim youth in the country.
Saliki Inusah Salifu observed that the phenomenon is worrying and must be nipped in the bud through concerted effort.
He said this in an interview with the media during the EID-Al-ADHA celebration.
On the 10million dollar Turkey government-funded National Mosque commissioned recently in Accra, the Zongo Chief said it is a monument that deserves to be well maintained for a generation.
