The Eastern Regional Hospital has suspended all internal meetings and gatherings following increasing Covid-19 infections among the staff of the hospital.
The decision by management is to help reduce the rate of spread of the virus.
The staff of the hospital has also been asked to treat all patients as potential Covid-19 carriers and protect themselves accordingly for their safety.
About 224 health workers in New Juaben mostly from the regional hospital have been infected with Covid-19 since 2020.
Out of the number, 2 have died.
A total of 1069 health workers in the Eastern region have so far been infected with six fatalities recorded.
Covid-19 cases in the region as of July 25, 2021 stand at 4795 with 85 deaths.
