The Managing Editor for Daily Dispatch, Mr. Ben Ephson has urged the former President John Dramani Mahama to rather recruit people who are loyal and well versed in electoral processes at polling stations across the country and stop issuing a threat that it would be ‘Do or die’ affair at the polling stations in 2024 general elections.
“So it is not a matter of dying at the polling station, but it is a matter of getting an educated polling agent”
“You can protect your ballots at the polling station without dying” he cautioned,
Mr. Ben Ephson reminded leadership of the New Patriotic Party and National Democratic Congress to invest their time and resources in finding a proper mechanism including employing people who would safeguard their interest in ensuring that the ballot boxes at the various polling stations would be protected.
“If you understand elections, then you will know that if Nana Akufo decides to make his brother the commissioner of the electoral commission or John Mahama decides to make his brother Ibrahim Mahama the electoral Commissioner. You would not be ordered because the eating of the pudding is at the polling station,” he stressed
He noted it was too early for politicians to start engaging in such matters, insisting that it was not appropriate time to engage in such banters.
“I still think that it’s too early to have this warm-up towards 2024” he noted.
