The Asamankese Circuit Court presided over by His Honour Abubakari Abass Adams has sentenced 18-year-old man, Joshua Sarfo to five years imprisonment in hard labor for stealing and unlawful entry.
Joshua Sarfo pleaded guilty when he was charged for stealing and unlawful entry and he was convicted on his plea.
Prosecuting, General Sargent Samuel Owusu told the court that the complainant, in this case, is a student of Kofi Ansah D/A Basic School in Abamkrom, while the accused is unemployed in the same Town.
General Sargent Samuel Owusu said somewhere in July 2021 at about 2:30am, the accused unlawfully entered the room of the complainants and took Itel’s mobile phone Worth ¢310.00 and a Techno mobile phone valued at ¢420.00, properties of Stephen Arhin and Ofori Meshach.
The prosecutor said on 26/08/2021 at about 8:30am, the accused was spotted at a food joint in Nyanoa and he was chased and arrested by civilians who handed him over to the police.
Upon Interrogation, the accused admitted stealing the phones and sold them to a Nigerian in Asamankese and he was later arraigned before court for prosecution.
