Uncollected heaps of refuse at Kumasi lorry terminal in Koforidua the Eastern Regional capital is obstructing vehicular movement and creating an environmental nuisance.
The refuse has been left uncollected for many days leaving the degradable components to degrade at a faster rate facilitated by the daily rainfall being recorded in the regional capital.
Drivers, food vendors, and shop operators at the lorry terminal are worried that the situation or breeding houseflies threatening health and safety in the precincts.
Poor waste management in the Eastern Regional Capital has been a major concern for residents.
Heaps of refuse are mostly seen littered and uncollected. Waste containers in collections centers, as well as household dust bins, are not emptied frequently are required.
