Military leaders in Mali and Guinea have been cautioned to go by the roadmap and timeline by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
Ghana’s President Akufo-Addo insists that ECOWAS will remain firm in its decisions to make sure the countries return to democratic rule through the ballot.
Speaking on Nkawkaw based Obuoba FM as part of his tour to the Eastern region, he emphasized that a 6months ultimatum has been given to the army in Guinnea to return to constitutional rule while Mali has up to February ending, 2022.
Reaffirming ECOWAS stand, President Akufo-Addo stressed that African Union, the United Nations, and other international bodies are all against military leadership and therefore urged the leaders in Mali and Guinea to collaborate with the leadership to ensure a smooth transfer of power to constitutional rule.
“ECOWAS remains firm in its decision so the ensure Mali and Guinea return to constitutional rule. So we are urging the military to help us to them resolve the issue” Akufo-Addo added.
