President Akufo-Addo has assured victims of the Akyem Oda market fire outbreak that his government would support them revive their businesses.
Inspecting the state of the market as part of his Eastern Regional tour, President Akufo-Addo emphasized that the state of markets in Ghana should be looked at again to ensure enough space to deal with such incidence.
He said the fire could have been controlled at the early stage if officials of the Ghana Fire service got access to the market on time.
The President indicated that Ghana Enterprise Agency will support victims of the fire outbreak financially to keep them back in business.
He emphasized officials of MASLOC have also spoken with leaders of the victims and urged them to provide an accurate list of those affected by the fire outbreak.
The Oda market in the Birim Central municipality was gutted by fire a few weeks ago destroying goods of traders at a cost of thousands of Ghana cedis.
