The Finance minister, Ken Ofori Atta has confirmed Government is determined to make a commitment of about $10-20m into the building of a National Cathedral.
According to the minister, spending such an amount to build a house of God is nothing and that, Ghanaians must see it as a way of showing appreciation to God as a Christian country for how far He has brought us.
Speaking exclusively to Asempa FM Osei Bonsu, after his budget presentation to Ghana’s Parliament, Mr. Ofori Atta revealed, the whole project is expected to cost an amount about $100m.
Asked how the project is going to be fully funded aside Government’s commitment, the minister indicated; a committee of eminent personalities is expected to solicit for funds to ensure it becomes a reality.
However, his comments have created a lot of discussions as social media users have expressed different views on the matter.
