Over 100 Ghanaian and Foreign nationals have been arrested for engaging in illegal activities such as prostitution popularly known as ashawo and other social vices that could endanger their lives by the Central East Regional Police Command.
This activity has urged the Central East Regional Police Deputy Commander, ACP Oduro Amanning, to advise the public to assist the police to fetch anyone who is seen engaging in smoking weed and other harmful medicines.
According to ACP Oduro, such doings will not aid the youth to achieve their goal in this era and it also tarnishes the image of the country.
Speaking to Bryt FM News Correspondent Eric Owusu Amponsah, the ACP stated, “On Friday, we arrested a number of young guys gathered in a particular base called William Pub at Gomoa Nyanyno Kakraba in the central region smoking and engaging in other unclean activities which I think will deprive them of having a healthy lifestyle.”
He stressed that most parents are one way or the other the cause of such behaviours since they do not pay much attention to their kids.
“They don’t check what their children wear when leaving the house; they do not know the whereabouts of their children when they leave home and the friends they mingle with. These are the beginning of a deviant child.
To wit, they advised perpetrators on their unwillingness to accept such actions in their area as well as the country, therefore, urged Ghanaians to throw their weight behind the police to root out such acts from the system.
