Heaps of uncollected refuse at Nkurakan market center are posing a serious health risk to both traders and customers.
The Nkurakan market is one of the brisk market centers in Yilo Krobo Municipality in the Eastern region which generates huge revenue for the assembly.
However, refuse generated are not collected on time leaving it to overflow the container to litter the environment.
The situation has been described as worrying as it attracts flies and emits bad stench whiles traders sell around.
Some of the market women told mybrytfmonline.com that, they have reported to the assembly on several occasions the need for the waste container to be emptied frequently particularly after market days but their call has not yielded a positive response.
According to them, the recent heavy downpour worsened their plight at the market making it an uncomfortable and unpleasant site to behold and operate.
