Mark Okraku Mantey, the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture has publicized that the government is set to launch a ‘December in GH’ campaign, to encourage tourism within the approaching festivities.
According to the Minister, over 150,000 people are expected to visit Ghana within the period, and for that matter, the government is putting in massive effort to obviate a possible spike in the extent of Covid-19 cases.
Speaking in an interview, Okraku Mantey urged Ghanaians without vaccination cards to quickly get involved in the vaccination to enable them to get vaccination cards.
He explained that the government has outlined necessities and guidelines to control and avoid the flood of COVID-19 within the December festivities therefore anybody without a vaccination card may not have the access to enter social gatherings.
“Vaccination cards will be required to enter; you must show that you have been vaccinated to be able to enter any event,” he stated.
“Children from age five and above would require a mask. Masks will be removed for special activities like eating and drinking,” he added.
The Deputy Tourism Minister noted “we want to keep you, your siblings and your family alive because if we should come together at a particular place, especially indoor events, and we do not put some checks and balances in place, we’re likely to have challenges after December,”
