The 2022 budget statement has been described as the best option for the government in dealing with the numerous foreign borrowing from Western countries.
It has also been described as the best way of solving the unemployment challenge the country currently faces.
Hon. Abdul El Samed, Government Spokesperson disclosed this in an interview with Kwabena Nyarko Abronoma on Ebesi Sen Show last Thursday concerning the budget.
According to him, the Akufo-Addo led administration since its assumption into power in 2017 has initiated many social intervention programs that have contributed a lot to the development of the country.
“The NPP has put in place many policies that have helped transform the economy as we came to meet and my brother we need money to ensure all these programs become successful. The E-levy will, however, go a long way to boost the economy without solely depending on foreign aid” Hon. Samed stressed.
He added that the levy will also be used to fund most road projects to ensure the country’s roads infrastructure is well taken care of so as to facilitate the movement of persons and goods.
Hon. Abdul Samed condemned the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) for speaking ill of the budget, indicating it is mere propaganda to divert attention from the well-thought budget that seems to create opportunities for all Ghanaians.
On the issue of the usage of Ghana’s oil money, the Spokesperson was quick to respond that the funds are been used to finance the Free SHS policy by the government.
