The chairman of the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) in the Eastern Region, Mr. Godwin Awoonor has asked parents to pray for their wards in the Senior High School boarding house because some are practicing Lesbianism and Gaysm in some Schools.
He said reports and data from some Schools indicate that some Students are practicing Homosexuality and others are in Occultism.
Speaking at Golden Child Complex School 14th graduation ceremony on the theme “Self-discipline-the key to national development and progress” for Junior High School students in Asamankese, Mr. Godwin Awoonor said “If there is a screen here like I will show you a video of Occultism act in a private school which involves a 12-year-old child and four others who wanted the 12-year-old child to join Occultism but the victim refused because his parents didn’t train him in that way. The victim was beaten and kept in a chop box for two days and he was later taken to hospital where he confessed that his colleagues were forcing him into Occultism but he refused and was beaten. As I speak with you, the school has been closed down and the proprietor, Head teacher, and Administrator have been arrested. Because there was no Discipline in the School, such an immoral act occurred.”
Mr. Godwin Awoonor stressed the need for parents to inculcate discipline in their wards before entering into Senior High School and charged Students who have completed Junior High School to discipline themselves as well before entering into Senior High School.
He urged students who completed Junior High School recently to have self-control as they await results and avoids bad company when given the chance to further education in Senior High School because such groups will not help them to achieve their aspirations and goals.
The NAGRAT chairman charges Secondary Schools in the country to learn from Ahantaman Senior High School and University Practice Senior High School because they are some of the most discipline Schools in Ghana.
He presented the Teacher’s code of conduct to the School to be distributed to all Teachers to study on behalf of NAGRAT and warned that any Teacher who will be caught sexually harassing the students will be dealt will at Eastern Region Disciplinary Committee.
Headmaster of the School, Mr. Adu Biterman called on Government and other philanthropists to support private schools with Teaching and learning materials and said a total of 83 students graduated this year in Junior High School.
