The Institute of Political Strategic Agency (IPSA), has condemned the directives by the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Steering Committee charging aspirants to stop advertising their interest in their 2022 party’s general election at the upcoming conference in Kumasi.
The Institution has described the directives by NPP leadership as problematic and a decision that could invite inter-party wrangling among various camps.
Mr. Amankwaa Nathaniel, President of the group said a quick survey conducted by his outfit has been detected that some aspirants feel the party leadership is trying to give exposure to some personalities over others who have the desire to contest.
He insisted that most of the national executive hopefuls are peeved by the decision by the party leadership but because they risk being disqualified from the contest, they have no option other than to keep quiet and follow the directives.
“Our survey detected that Some aspirants have spent over Ghc120,000 on billboards, banners, posters, and other related items to advertise their interest of contest at the upcoming Delegates Conference only to be forced to remove them by the party’s hierarchy without considering the cost involved” Mr. Amankwaa Nathaniel alleged.
