Management 45 Boarding Students of ABUSCO Suspended For Forming Gang and Using Weapons in Kyebi in the Eastern Region has indefinitely suspended some 45 students and thrown them out of Campus for forming criminal gangs and using lethal weapons.
The students reported being form 2 Green track male boarding students of Akyem Asafo House were handed their suspension letters on December 15, 2021.
The Headmaster of the School, Eric Hanson Adjei Sarpong stated that the suspensions take immediate effect.
The school explained it found the students guilty of forming a gang with violent activities akin to gangsterism.
The school listed that the students were engaged in “formation of unauthorized groups in the school with hidden agenda resulting into rival conflicts amounting to gangsterism, Organizing gang meetings without approval, possession, and use of lethal weapons in the school, fighting with lethal weapons, possession, and use of mobile phones in the school, deceiving the disciplinary committee during interrogation and failure to observe light out “.
The letter further said the conduct of the students violates laid down rules of the Ghana Education Service and if not checked would break down discipline in the school.
“The action has therefore been taken to serve as a deterrent to the entire student’s body,” the letter said
The Housemaster was directed to immediately eject the students from the school pending review of the decision by the board of Governors.
The headmaster declined to comment when contacted.
