The Bible says in Matthew 6:22 that when the eye is single the body is full of light.
It’s a new year, tomorrow is largely our first working day and this is a good time to read something like this.
One day I was listening to His Eminence Archbishop Nicholas Duncan Williams on radio, it was years ago when Lydia Forson had written a piece that seemed to have been about him. The interviewer in the Joy fm Studio asked the Archbishop what does he think about what Lydia Forson had said, then he asked, “Who is that?”, the interviewer, just like me, seemed startled, tried to explain to him that she was an actress and all that. But the Clergyman, in his innocence of ignorance of who she is, admitted he doesn’t know her but politely addressed the substance of what the interviewer was trying to draw out from Lydia’s post about him.
I was so surprised! Mheeeeen! People dey ooo. So, as popular as I had thought someone like Lydia Forson is, there is equally another very popular person who doesn’t even know her? This does not mean that Lydia is not impactful or famous, I think she has done so well in her space. But what intrigued me which I learned is that highly successful people are extremely focused on only what is important to their journey and goals that if there is something else so popularly close to them, they may not even notice it because all energy in their focus dims out every other attention-seeking information that might be a distraction.
During my Masterclass campaign, I used Whashawasayyyy on my WhatsApp Status, and the MD of a Bank who is my friend, read my status and inboxed me to ask what does it mean? I said oh it’s slang in town coined by Cecelia Marfo trying to sing a gospel song titled “What Shall I say unto the Lord?”
His next question was, “Who is Cecelia Marfo?”, I was like. I now had to explain. I initially said, or but he can Google it. He asked me, “Is he bringing a million dollars to my Bank?”, I said I am not sure Sir, and oh it’s a She and not even a He. He asked, so why should I Google her? Ah! Lol. I realized that this man, all he is thinking about now is how to bring in more deposits to his bank! Any other thing he doesn’t want to bother himself to know more
One time Mark Zuckerberg was asked why he wears the same T-shirt every day, he said he doesn’t want the distraction.
People have incredible focus, and it seems the deeper you are in focusing on what is more important to you and your goals, the more intensity you generate for higher altitudes of success. Highly successful people have an insane focus that you find almost impossible to distract them, and they can spot a distraction very quickly and devise a strategy to avoid it.
You see the picture below, my Gun instructor was very impressed at my excellent Score, as all my gunfire stayed within the target (the red circle) and I scored Excellently. He taught me that, when you are aiming at a Target, you need a ONENESS OF MIND. You can’t have the gun in your hands and your mind is on some Banku at home or someone who offended you last week which has been on our mind, that way you will never hit your target.
So successfully hitting your target requires 100% concentration and the harmony of your being!
In 2022, stay focused, know when to respond to distraction, how to respond, to what extent you should respond, and when to completely ignore and just play blind.
If your enemy knows that they can bait you out of your den for a fight every time, trust me, they will do it every month just to keep you distracted from your intended Goal and drain your expensive energy.
Stay in the red Circle as you see in my picture with my gun instructor. Hit your 2022 goals so that by December we can celebrate and you and I can go and feed many more needy families during Christmas with the blessings that God will have given us during the year.
God bless you and the Compliments of the Season.
