The Clergy forum for Fairness (CFF) has called for the interdiction of Interior Minister, Ambrose Derry and Director of NADMO, Nana Prempeh over the Apiatse explosion.
According to a statement issued by the group, it demands the establishment of an independent enquiry into the explosion on why the Interpretations of the Minerals and Mining explosives Regulations 2012 (L.I 2177) Regulation 107 was defied by the Maxam Company during the transportation of the explosives.
Statement below:
INTERIOR MINISTER, NADMO BOSS MUST BE INTERDICTED OVER APIATSE EXPLOSION
The Clergy forum for Fairness (CFF) extends its heartfelt condolences to the Families of Apiatse who lost their loved ones in the Explosion that was witnessed on 20th January 2022 and also wishes the injured ones a Speedy recovery.
We therefore on this Notice call on the appropriate authorities to as a matter of urgency interdict the Interior Minister Hon Ambrose Derry and Director of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), Nana Prempeh for failing to make sure that, the Due process in Transporting Explosives are put in place.
Clergy Forum for Fairness with or without Equivocal terms demands the establishment of independent Enquiry into the Havoc on why the Interpretations of the “Minerals and Mining Explosives Regulations 2012 (L.i 2177) Regulation 107 was defied by the Maxam Company during the Transportation of the Explosives.
The aforementioned Legislation requires that ” A person who Transports Explosives in a Road Vehicle shall ensure that, the Explosives are under the direct control of a person who has a Certificate of Competency in Explosives in According with the Regulation 15.2″.
The Laws Further Require that “Without Limiting Sub-Regulation (1), A Person who Transport Explosives in a Road shall ensure that, the Transportation is done under the Police escort “.
With Reference to the Eyewitness accounts on the day of the Incidence, it was recorded that, A Motorbike rider rammed into the truck Transporting the Explosives.
Again, it also came to Light that, Only the driver was in the Truck during the Transportation of the Explosives so we quiz that:
(1) Why only the Driver was in the Truck whilst the Laws require for Additional person who is an Expert in Controlling and Handling Explosives…?
(2) Was there the Presence of the Police for an escort when the Incidence Occured as required by the Law..? And if Yes. How did the Motorbike rider manage to Crush the Truck whilst Police Escort was Present?
Clergy Forum for Fairness wishes to Demand answers from the Interior Minister Mr Ambrose Derry on what exactly happened after he gave 14 days to the Maxam Company to ensure Safety in December 2017..?
What did he see in the Company before given cautioning them on Safety measures..?
Clergy Group wishes to Call on President Akuffo Addo to immediately interdict the Minister for Fair and Clear Scrutiny to take place into this Unforgettable tragedy in the Country’s History.
