The season of harmattan is often characterised by general dryness and lack of humidity in the atmosphere.
The harshness of the harmattan weather tends to present an increase in undesired fire outbreaks and rampant loss of lives and properties around this time of year.
It is in light of the dangers of the harmattan season, that the ADUAMOA FIRE STATION led by its District Fire Officer, DOII Ebenezer Sackitey has intensified the fire safety and prevention educational campaign within its jurisdiction.
The aim of this program is to heighten the roles of the Residents at Aduamoa and surrounding communities to prevent undesired fires.
The Team visited a number of facilities in the Aduamoa and surrounding communities including Modak Hotel and Apaah Farms to drum down an intensive education on fire prevention and best practices to follow to Managers and Workers alike.
The Team again inspected fire certificates of premises and carried out rigorous safety inspections to ensure such facilities met the minimum fire safety standards to continue to be in business.
DOII Sackitey assured the Residents that the Service will not renege on its commitment to ensuring their safety.
He reminded them that, fire safety and prevention is a shared responsibility and thus they should always adhere to all fire safety and precautionary measures given out to them by the Service.
