The Accra Archdiocese C.Y.O has donated Ten students mattresses worth ¢ 2,100 to the Ghana Catholic Youth Organization (C.Y.O).
The donation comes barely three weeks after mybrytfmonline.com reported that the C.Y.O Headquarters building at Adoagyiri-Nsawam in the Eastern Region has received a massive facelift but the organization is still facing structural, infrastructural, logistical and financial challenges.
In a statement to celebrate a patron Saint of the Organization (Saint John Bosco), National Chairman of the C.Y.O, Senior Crusader George Nego Fugluu said “The building is now crying for Renovation and furnishing. The painting has just been completed, courtesy your efforts, it’s a 75-bed capacity facility where all the mattresses need to be replaced.”
Just after the celebration in the Accra Archdiocese, the leadership of the Organization mobilized money and purchased ten students mattresses and handed it over to the Acting Organizing Secretary, who doubles as National Vice Chairman of the Ghana C.Y.O, Senior Crusader Gabriel Maurice Nartey.
Present at the headquarters for the donation were Snr Cr Elizabeth Naademe – Accra Archdiocese Chairperson, Snr Cr Major John Abane and Snr Cr D.Y.K Frimpong- Manso.
The C.Y.O is devoted to facilitate and conduct training courses in the field of Youth Service, to seek and administer funds for Youth Service, to co-operate with the Church, the Government and other agencies concerned with Youth Service to foster and co-ordinate activities of Church societies dealing with Youth.
