Military personnel believed to be members of the anti-galamsey task force have allegedly set ablaze four excavators parked at a private residence of a man believed to be small-scale miner.
The incident occurred on Wednesday, 23rd February 2022 at Ntobronso, a Community in the Nkawie District of the Ashanti region.
The fire spread to a private residence of a miner destroying properties worth thousands of Ghana cedis.
What triggered the action by the military is not yet known.
The development has thrown the Ntobronso community into a state of shock as residents questioned the intention behind the exercise.
