The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Philteng Medical Center, Dr Philemon Mensah, has advised Ghanaians to change the attitude of carrying mobile phones along to the washroom (toilet) in order to prevent them from attaining any sort of sickness.
According to him, taking the phone into the toilet is very harmful because germs from the toilet and surrounding surface can get into your hand and then be easily transfer into your phone, which later gets way into your system, as the phones cannot be washed with soap and water.
Feeling Sick, vomiting, diarrhoea, fever as well as headache, painful cramps and aching limbs are some of the symptoms attain from touching unclean substance such as mobile phone.
Dr Mensah on one of the Accra-based radio station’s morning show has schooled the public to avoid using their mobile phone when they are busy doing some household tasks because a mobile phone has nothing to do with their health.
“Ghanaians should avoid the habit of picking food which has fallen on the phone to consume. Using mobile phone whiles eating is very risky to our health,” he averred
Ghanaians are advised to put their phone in their pocket or handbag before visiting the toilet or wash both hands thoroughly afterwards and avoid nail-biting because germs can easily go straight into your hand and be transferred into your phone.
Dr Mensah then urged the public to clean their phones regularly as well as washing their hands properly after visiting the toilet and stop handling phone or touching any contaminated substance in order to prevent them from getting the sickness.
