The District Best Farmer for Sekyere Afram plains district of the Ashanti region, Rev. Michael Opoku has passionately appealed to the government, the District Chief Executive, Hon Sulemana Hamidu, and other authorities to come to their aid by the attacking and illegal activities of Fulani herdsmen using their cattle to destroy their farm produce.
According to Rev Michael Opoku, farmers of the district always suffer a lot from the activities of Fulani herdsmen attacks and destruction of their farm produce such as; maize, rice, plantain, and other farm products.
Speaking with the media, he complained he is one of the victims as his ten(10) acres of farmland products have been destroyed by Fulani herdsman this year.
He added that farmers always complained bitterly that whenever they confront the herdsmen to question them about the destruction of their farm products, they always point guns at them are have threatened to face them squarely should authorities fail to act.
