President Akufo-Addo has assured that his government would deal with anyone found culpable in the missing excavator’s saga.
Delivering the State of Nation Address in Parliament on Thursday, 20th February 2020, President Akufo-Addo has urged Ghanaians to provide the appropriate security agencies the necessary evidence to ensure perpetrators are been punished.
According to him, he has directed the appropriate agency, that is, the Special Prosecutor, to investigate the missing excavators to ascertain those behind it.
He added the fight against illegal mining has been successful despite a few challenges that have come with it, commending the “Operation Vanguard” team for their hard work.
He, however, debunked numerous reports that the fight has been a failure as most water bodies have seen improvement in its cleanness.
