The domestic football governing body (GFA) will in the coming days announce Otto Addo as the permanent Black Stars coach.
Dortmund and Ghana Football Association (GFA) have reached an agreement to release Otto Addo for the Black Stars until 2023.
“I got permission from Dortmund. Under certain conditions, it works out that I can do the international game phases in June, September and also the World Cup,” Addo said in a podcast of Hamburger Abendblatt.
The former Black Stars player together with his technical crew will therefore lead Ghana in the upcoming AFCON 2023 qualifiers and the World Cup.
Ghana has been handed a tricky Africa Cup of Nations draw, as they face Madagascar, Angola and the Central African Republic in Group E of the qualifiers.
The Black Stars will open their account in the qualifiers against Madagascar on June 1 at the Cape Coast stadium which has been approved by the Confederation of African Football.
Otto Addo and his technical team will also lead the Black Stars in the upcoming World Cup tournament in Qatar.
Ghana has been paired against Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea in Group H.
