Numbering over five thousand beneficiaries of the government flagship program Youth Employment Agency (YEA) in the Western North region, has vowed to boycott the launching of the 2022 Green Ghana Project in the region over their unpaid arrears.
Speaking in an interview with the media, the Spokesperson for the aggrieved beneficiaries, Mr Kofi Mensah noted that, they have been maltreated by authorities of the scheme for some months now, hence the need for them to voice out their woes for the public to know what they are going through.
“As soon as you talk, you will be victimised, but this time we have to talk. We cannot survive with over eight months’ unpaid arrears. We are all breadwinners and family heads. Honestly, life has become unbearable for us”, he stated.
In addition, some beneficiaries who spoke on anonymity narrated that, they have heard the YEA is set to launch the 2022 version of Green Ghana very soon, but they won’t step a toe over there because of poor treatment by the forestry commission.
“We will not step a toe over there because of their disrespectful behaviours and harsh treatments. We are calling on the government to expedite the process and pay us”, they reiterated.
