Mr Alexander Sarfo-Kantanka, the former Municipal Chief Executive nominee for the Juaben Municipal Assembly, has been granted a bail of GH 90,000 over vote-buying.
Mr Sarfo-Kantanka must furnish two sureties, both of whom must be Ghanaians with valid Ghana identification cards, one of whom must be justified by landed property.
Mr Sarfo-Kantanka is charged with 26 counts of corruption, although he has pleaded not guilty in court.
He was charged with vote-buying by the Special Prosecutor’s Office and given bail in the amount of GHS90,000.
The case has been postponed until June 29th for case management.
After being arrested, Mr Sarfo-Kantanka, the New Patriotic Party’s Juaben constituency chairman, was investigated.
In November 2021, Mr Sarfo-Kantanka was caught on film accusing assembly members in the Juaben municipality of refusing to ratify his nomination as Municipal Chief Executive.
