Aperede Clinic in the Achiase district in the Eastern region operates in a single room making it difficult to admit more pregnant women in labor.
The situation is affecting pregnant women in labor as some had to be referred to Achiase Health Center in case the clinic is unable to admit them at the same time.
Meanwhile, a maternity ward under the construction by the MP for the area is unduly delaying.
However, the Works Department of the Achiase District Assembly on June 1, 2022, inspected the ongoing project.
The project which is being funded by the MP’s Common Fund has an office for the midwife, a waiting room, a delivery room, and a recovery room.
The project when completed will provide a decent facility for expectant mothers to be delivered their babies.
The Achiase District Health Director Mrs. Stella Owusu believes completion of the project will go a long way to improve maternity care.
