In his quest to improve the lives of his constituents; Member of Parliament for Techiman South, Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah has secured a total sum of One million Ghana Cedis (GHC1000,000) to be disbursed to about 375 traders as loans without interest to boost their various businesses.
Speaking to the media in Techiman during a short ceremony to disburse the funds to traders who have undergone business training, the Deputy Minister for Local Government, Decentralization and Rural Development revealed that this is the second phase of his loan initiative to assist his constituents.
According to him, the money was secured from BACCSOD Ltd, a private Financial Services Company belonging to the Roman Catholic Church.
He said about a thousand traders have so far benefited from the loan scheme and his non-profit organization MIKAM Foundation will pay off all interest charges on the monies given out to ease the burden on the beneficiaries.
Meanwhile, some women from Techiman market who are beneficiaries of the loan thanked the MP and pledged to work harder and pay back the loans for others to benefit too.
