The General Overseer of Seventh Day Pentecostal Assembly in Esreso in the Ashanti region, Pastor Enock Ofori Jnr, has admonished President Akufo-Addo for prioritising the construction of the National Cathedral over the fight against corruption.
In an interview with the media on some happenings in the country, the pastor viewed that, though building the National cathedral is good for Christianity but believes the government must instead fix his attention on the fight against corruption.
“How can you build a cathedral whilst your officials are untrustworthy? I think Ghanaians don’t need a national cathedral now. All we want to see is developments and the fight against those corrupt officials in government,” he announced.
On the issue of celebrating fathers, he noticed that the reason for nominal patronage of fathers’ day celebration resulted from some fathers not playing their roles.
“Seemingly, the patronage of this year’s father’s day was very wretched, but I will put the blame on feeble parenting on the side of some men. I think we can make it a memorable one someday if men keep playing their roles as excellent dads” he stated.
Pastor Enock Ofori Jnr deplored that the culture of Ghanaians has also contributed magnificently to the low celebration of father’s day due to our cultural mentality.
Responding to the call by the national chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party, Freddie Blay, to allow homosexuals to have their freedom, he jabbed the NPP stalwart to relinquish such pronouncements.
‘‘Nevertheless, it’s his personal view, but I think it’s on called for. I will plead with Ghanaians to resist such impunity’’ he added.
