On Tuesday, 19th July 2022 at a ceremony in Accra, work commenced on the rehabilitation and modernization of the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park as part of the Ghana Tourism Development Project.
This is the first time the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park will see a face-lift since its construction in 1992.
Key works to be executed include a Presidential library, a well-lit-up musical fountain, a freedom wall, and an arboretum, among several others.
The Tourism Development Project is a key part of efforts to re-grow the Ghanaian economy as the sector is the 3rd largest contributor to GDP.
To grow the economy faster, create sustainable employment, and develop communities, the government is stimulating the sector to enable it to play its role.
