Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), claims to have known that John Boadu of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) wouldn’t win reelection.
He mentioned that he has a rare skill that allows him to predict events, albeit he did not specify why.
As he is known, General Mosquito stated that his lack of attendance at the meeting was due to his impression of the likely outcome.
“I was asked why I didn’t go and if I was not invited. But I didn’t want to go and see John Boadu off. I already had a feeling that he was not going to win.
“That was why I allowed my Deputy, Peter, to attend and speak on my behalf at the conference,” he told Accra-based Okay FM.
On July 16, 2022, Justin Frimpong Kodua defeated Mr Boadu in the Accra Sports Stadium by a margin of more than 310 votes.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Agency, Mr Kodua, received 2,857 votes to Mr Boadu’s 2,524 votes, out of the 5,556 total votes cast.
Since then, Mr Boadu has committed to collaborating with the whole newly-elected executive.
