Some constituents of Dome-Kwabenya in the Greater Accra region are in expectation of the outcome of Thursdays parliamentary proceedings in regard to the faith of the Member of Parliament, Sarah Adwoa Sarfo.
Parliament is expected to take an official decision as to the faith of the embattled MP after failing to appear before the Privileges Committee in regard to her absenteeism from activities of the House for so many months.
The long outstanding absenteeism attitude of the lawmaker has attracted a lot of diverse opinions as she also an remain as a minister of state in charge of Gender, Children and Social Protection.
Speaking to some constituents ahead of Parliament official communique, they were in great anticipation of the outcome as it is a major problem facing them in the constituency.
Some are fed up with her attitude and are expecting Parliament to declare the seat vacant and allow for fresh election to elect a new MP to serve the constituency.
Others also describe the posture of the MP as insubordinate to Ghana’s Parliament and the people in the Dome-Kwabenya constituency as she has turned down many opportunities given her to express her concerns.
“Our market is in poor condition and we need someone who can help us renovate it so we need a new MP who will be around anytime to deal with our problems” some market women complained.
However, some constituents believes she may have a case with the NPP party and that has warranted her actions.
“Why is the President not able to take away the ministerial position from her. Is it that there is something fishy going on the party or Presidency that we don’t know?” some angry constituents quizzed.
Meanwhile, the Presidency has officially confirmed the MP had earlier asked for sometime off to take care of some personal issue which she later asked for another extension.
