Communication team member of the main opposition National Democratic Congress, Prince Henry is asking why President Akufo-Addo and Communications minister, Ursula Owusu are making Ghanaians go through stress in registering their sim cards.
According to the vibrant Communication member in the Eastern region, he and other Ghanaians are currently going through stress to acquire their Ghana cards which is the only identity for one to register a sim card.
In a statement, Comrade Prince Henry stated “I went back to the NIA to get a replacement and was told I should write my name and come back on 25th September 2022 with a police report before they could fill another form for me to obtain a replacement of my lost Ghana card”.
He is asking why the Voters ID card is not allowed to be used as an identity to register sim cards despite using the same card to register for the Ghana card.
“My question is, why are Mrs Ursula Owusu and Prof Ken Attefuah making me and many other Ghanaians go through all these problems and stress when we have our voters card which we obtained through the use of our Ghana card to register our sim cards” he queried.
He is, however, accusing the National Identification Authority of the delay in the issuance of the Ghana cards and warned the Communication minister to desist from blaming Ghanaians for the delay of the exercise.
Madam Ursula Owusu on Sunday, 31st July 2022 communicated to Ghanaians that the exercise has been extended to September 30.
