Member of Parliament for Effutu has charged Executives, MPs, Ministers and other Government appointees to regularly visit their constituents to foster the bond between them and electorates.
The Deputy Majority Leader insist that a good relationship between leadership and the grassroots will help strengthen the unity within the party and help it gather momentum for future elections.
Speaking on Joy news PM Express with Evans Mensah, Hon. Afenyo-Markin indicated that some attitudes of some Government appointees have affected the party over the years and urged the current ones to get closer to party members.
He emphasised that it is the grassroots that do all the hard work for the party and therefore need to be commended for their contributions to the success of the New Patriotic Party.
“I am urging my fellow MPs and other appointees to visit their people whenever there is a little opportunity regularly. We must get closer to the grassroots as they are the ones working for the party” the Effutu MP added.
Hon. Afenyo-Markin retreated he has been with his constituents from day one till date and that has improved the relationship between him and his constituents.
