The Member of Parliament for Asuogyaman Thomas Ampem Nyarko has cut sod for the construction of a community-initiated Clinic project at Abume, a fishing community in the constituency.
The MP provided a trip of sand and chippings, iron rods, bags of cement, and cash of Ghc2,000 for the start of the project.
“My community visitation during this recess took my team and me to Abume and Mangoase on Sunday. At Abume, I used the occasion to cut sod for the construction of a community-initiated clinic. I donated A trip each of sand and chippings, Iron rods, 50 bags of cement, and a cash amount of 2,000 cedis to start the foundation and pledged my continuous support until completion”.
Thomas Ampem Nyarko also supported a clinic project at Mangoase çommunity with GHc20,000.
“Similarly, at Mangoase, I once again supported their clinic project with an amount of 20,000 Ghana cedis. I’m so proud of the Mangoase community for their resilience towards this project. I will continue to support every community in my beloved constituency who embark on any community-initiated project”. The lawmaker said.
The MP has been busy leveraging the recess of Parliament to impact communities in his constituency.
The MP and his entourage visited Kojokpo, Sedorm, Yeniama, Asukwao, and Small London.
Last week, for instance, Thomas Ampem Nyarko donated a 40 horsepower outboard motor to Kojokpo, an Island fishing community to aid the ferrying of goods on the Volta Lake to towns.
“Kojokpo is one of the island fishing communities within Asuogyaman on the Volta Lake. People in this community cross Volta Lake by canoe either to Gyakiti or Korankye to transport their goods to the market and also access other social amenities. To help reduce the risk and time spent on the lake, I donated a 40-horsepower outboard motor to the community. This is to be used especially to transport school children to and from Gyakiti where they access basic education”
The MP also donated poly tanks to Yeniama and Asukwao.
“I also donated polytanks to the people of Yeniama and Asukwao for water storage and also gave some Secondhand Clothing which was donated to me by “Heaven Relief”, an NGO based in the United States to our children in Sedorm”.
Thomas Ampem Nyarko has also initiated a project at Atimpoku to ensure every household has a decent toilet facility to end open defecation
To make Small London, a suburb of Atimpoku an “Open Defecation Free” community, I have initiated a program which is to support households with bags of cement and roofing sheets to build their toilet facilities”
Additionally, the MP presented a mower to the youth of the Atimpoku community for the clearing of their football and school fields
