Rice farmers in the North Tongu constituency of the Volta region save GHS250 per every hectare of ploughing & save another GHS250 for every hectare of harvesting.
The Member of Parliament’s Power Tiller & Combine Harvester Services, in total saves them at least GHS500 for every hectare of rice production.
According to the MP, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the initiative is the modest effort of cushioning and subsidizing industrious rice farmers who have suffered a more than 300% increase in farm inputs since last year.
According to him, the initiative has over the years been beneficial to rice farmers within the constituency and pledged to do more.
The MP has initiated a lot of interventions for his constituents since becoming the lawmaker which cut across all sectors; that is, education, health, agriculture, security, youth empowerment and many others.
