On Sunday, Bryan Acheampong, Member of Parliament Abetifi presented cash of GH170,000 and 42 sewing machines and 26 hair dryers to the Dressmakers and Hairdressers Associations in the Abetifi Constituency.
The kind gesture forms part of the Abetifi Constituency social policy to assist young women to operate on their own to become economically self-sufficient and independent.
This laudable programme, according to Hon. Bryan Acheampong will be done every graduating year.
Presenting the items to the beneficiaries, Hon. Bryan Acheampong lauded the trainers of the graduates for dedicating their precious time to training them to become economically self-sufficient in life.
He also commended the graduates for also committing themselves throughout the four-year period to be trained as hairdressers and seamstresses.
Hon. Bryan Acheampong gave each of the 68 members of the Dressmakers and Hairdressers Associations in Abetifi Constituency GH2,000.00, Sewing Machine and Hairdryers to start their own business.
The Masters who trained the graduates also received GH500 for each person trained.
This is to ensure that members who have acquired training in dressmaking and hairdressing in the district start their trade without inhibitions.
He further stated that next year, if you are an apprentice and you are able to graduate you will be going home with GH2,500, a Sewing machine or Hairdryers and the training cost.
In attendance was Hon. Isaac Agyapong, DCE Kwahu East, Isaac Kwaku Addo, Chairman NPP Abetifi Constituency, Nana Opoku Mintah II, Cheif of Kwahu Tafo, Nana Opoku Tano II, Chief of Bokuruwa and Nana Ama Amanua II Queen Mother of Abetifi.
