As part of a five-day working visit to the Bono, Bono East and Ahafo Regions, leaders of ActionAid paid a visit to Professor Elvis Asare- Bediako, Vice Chancellor of the University of Environment and Natural Resources (UNER).
The meeting was aimed at deepening the working relationship between ActionAid and the University.
John Nkaw commended authorities of the University of Environment and Natural Resources for their commitment to educating Ghanaians on climate-related crises.
He said one of the goals of ActionAid’s advocacy on climate justice and agroecology is to build the resilience of farmers and provide the needed support to the government to identify the country’s climate vulnerabilities.
The Board Chairman, Nana Yaw Okyere- Aduachie, noted that ActionAid runs its programmes through collaboration with like-minded organisations, therefore, the visit was to pick feedback from partners and collaborators to help revise its programme and project implementation approach.
He said ActionAid as a development organization cannot achieve its target without recognizing the important role and value the university adds to the country’s development agenda.
Professor Elvis Asare- Bediako, Vice Chancellor, University of Environment and Natural Resources, explained that UNER is committed to the partnership with ActionAid to raise awareness and build the capacity of people on climate change.
