Ghanaians have been urged to sympathise with the Akufo-Addo led government over current economic crises been experienced locally and globally.
Mr. Effah Ameyaw, Ghana National Council of Chicago and Midwest in the US disclosed this to Ohene Amoako (The Flag bearer) on Homebase TV’s Delivering On Our Promises political show.
According to the US resident, the effect of COVID-19 and the impact of the Russian-Ukraine war have also had negative impact on the economy of the world giants.
He revealed that homelessness in the era of the COVID-19 pandemic to the beginning of this year increased by 20%, according to the US Department of Housing the vulnerable are taken care of.
He indicated many people who could not afford their house rent were forced to relocate to the Department of Housing for shelter as they were ejected by property owners.
On the Russian-Ukraine war, Mr. Ameyaw explained that it has had a toll effect on livelihood as prices of goods have increased at high pace due to increase in transportation cost.
“Due to the war, prices of good have gone up because sellers factor cost of transportation in pricing them. And I must say it has really affected many people” he stated.
He complained of buying gas at $45-50 dollars as compared to the $24 dollars before the Russian-Ukraine war started.
He therefore called on Ghanaians to appreciate the efforts being made by President Akufo-Addo as the current global crises has affected every nation on this earth.
The Host, Ohene Amoako also assured Ghanaians that the IMF bailout will help deal with most of the economic challenges and that all must rise up and support policies and measures put out by Government.
