A well-known NPP member named Nana Obiri Boahen has said that he sees nothing wrong with African leaders bused to the late Queen Elizabeth’s funeral in the UK.
He claims that African leaders must use gas-guzzling SUVs at the expense of their people because of the subpar infrastructure.
This was Nana Obiri Boahen’s response to the fact that many leaders from developing nations had to travel to Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in buses.
“When they are bused there is nothing wrong. Let me tell you, the Prime Minister of Sweden uses a bicycle, and Denmark’s Prime Minister uses a train. I believe that if the facilities were available here, a number of people in high office would have done the same,” he said on Accra-based OKAY FM.
He continued “for instance if we had trains that shuttle between Koforidua and Accra, MPs from that region would have stayed in their home regions and come to work. But because our roads are not good the time factor”.
