Effutu Municipal Chief Executive, Alhaji Zubairu Kassim has handed over the keys to a newly constructed 2-unit kindergarten block with a rest room, office space, dining area and other ancillary facilities to the Don Bosco Catholic Basic School through the Ghana Education Service in the Effutu Municipality.
The project, which was financed by the government of Ghana, has disability-friendly fittings to allow pupils with disabilities to access it like their able counterparts.
The completion of the project was timely to help reduce congestion in the classrooms.
He charged the Effutu Education Directorate to continuously monitor and ensure the maintenance of the facility to enable it to serve generations yet unborn.
The Assembly would work closely with the Ghana Education Service (GES) to develop a plan that would establish guidelines to improve the physical conditions of the schools and create an atmosphere of learning that would endure for decades to come.
In a related development, the MCE also met with final-year students of the Don Bosco and ACM Junior High Schools who are preparing for the Basic Education Certificate Examination, scheduled to begin on Monday, October 17, 2022, and encouraged them to face the exams with the mindset of coming out with excellence to position them well for the next ladder of their pursuit for higher education.
He again admonished them to avoid examination malpractices and focus on understanding the questions to help them reproduce what they were taught in the classroom to produce better results in the end.
