Poor attendance has characterised the observation of this year’s Day of National Prayer, Fasting, Repentance and Reconciliation in Ndola on the Copperbelt.
At the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium, the venue for the public event on the Copperbelt only pockets of people is in attendance, mainly who are church choir members set to perform, a clear contrast to the years gone by.
Apart from a few UPND officials, no other notable political party is in attendance at the Levy Mwanawasa stadium.
Also, citizens were not seen throning to the venue as most of them see no reason why they should boycott their work to attend a prayer program in the midst of the country’s economic challenges.
