The Volta River Authority (VRA) has issued a warning to all persons living along the Volta river to relocate or take the necessary precautions as it gets ready to spill the Akosombo and Kpong Dams.
According to a press statement issued by the Cooperate Affairs/External Relations Unit of VRA, the current reservoir elevation stood at 273.70 feet and is expected to move up to 276 feet by next week if the current rate of inflow continues.
The statement added, “The VRA however, assured it will continue to monitor the situation, work with its key stakeholders and issue regular updates to ensure a prompt response to any emergency situation that may arise”.
