The Member of Parliament for the Talensi constituency, Benson Tongo Baba has revealed plans to push for answers on the delayed Pwalugu Multipurpose dam project sometime next year.
Commenting on concerns that the $993 million project has been abandoned, the MP said there were plans in place to formally visit the project site.
Following this, he said they will try to seek answers from the relevant ministers in Parliament.
The Pwalugu Multipurpose Dam is a planned dam across the White Volta River, in Ghana and is also expected to control the perennial flooding in the Northern regions caused by heavy rains and the spillage of the Bagre dam.
The Pwalugu Multi-Purpose Dam Project will comprise the following components: A dam with a maximum reservoir area of 260 km2 and full supply level of 165m, a 60 MW powerhouse with two (2) turbines, 20-metre-high weir with primary and secondary canals for a 25,000-hectare irrigation scheme, 15km overhead transmission line and a 50MW Solar Hybrid Plant.
