The Western North Regional Minister, Hon Richard Ebbah Obeng in conjunction with Mr Benjamin Armah, NPP Regional Chairman donated 1,135 durable dual desks to Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipal Education Directorate today at Sefwi Bekwai. The estimated cost of the project is one hundred and twenty thousand cedis ( Ghc 120,000.00).
The gesture was part of the unprecedented educational policy introduced by the Western North Regional Minister, Hon. Richard Obeng Ebbah. The Policy focuses on eradicating the era of limited school desks in our education system.
In a short address, Hon. Ebbah Obeng reiterated his commitment to quality Education in the Region. He also urged students in the Region and by extension the entire nation to take their studies seriously. The Minister then pleaded with the various heads, teachers and students to take good care of the furniture.
He admonished the citizens to have faith in Nana Akufo-Addo Bawumia’s administration in resolving the current hardships the nation is grappling with and pleaded with all particularly timber firm operators, businessmen and educationalists to support the 1 child 1 desk policy.
The desks were received by Mrs Florence Afful Dadzie, Municipal Director of Education for
Bibiani Anhwianso Bekwai.
Mrs Dadzie expressed her profound gratitude to the dignitaries for the gesture and promised to ensure equitable distribution, and good maintenance through regular monitoring to prolong their life span.
