The timely intervention of Firefighters from the Wa Municipal Fire Station saved the entire space where discarded hospital equipment is kept from total fire destruction at the Wa Hospital in the Upper West Region.
According to a reliable source, it took the gallant Firefighters 3 minutes to arrive at the Wa Hospital after receiving the distress fire call at 09:01 hours.
The tactical Crew used 6 minutes to control the rampaging bushfire from further spread and succeeded in finally knocking it out at 0912 hours.
The last Wednesday bushfire which started near the Administration Block and quickly spread to the discarded hospital equipment dump area destroyed items such as weighing scales, wheelchairs, incubators, walking aids and surrounding bushes.
