It is harder for Mrs Anita Yerenkyi, who has no hope of getting back on her feet unless she receives help from the public.
The fate of her four children, who depend on her small business of hawking drinks, depends on how soon and well she’s able to get back on her feet.
Anita is currently on admission at the Ridge hospital’s fourth floor (Surgical Ward Urology Room 4).
She slipped and fell while hawking on a rainy day in early October this year.
She became unconscious but doctors have managed to manage her condition, but she needs surgery and an implant to be able to walk again.
The surgery and implant that will get her back on her feet are estimated at 70,000 cedis or $5,400.
The Akanwarikum family, who helped her to start the small business, say they have spent almost all their savings on the initial cost of the treatment since she fell and became unconscious.
