Trade and Industry minister, Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten has congratulated Ms Portia Solomon Gabor of TV3 for winning the 2022 Journalist of the Year at the 26th Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Awards Night in Accra.
The minister was of the view that the importance of responsible media in national development cannot be overemphasised.
“To achieve this, the media should offer an avenue for critical thinking in shaping public opinion that would impact positively in promoting policies for the good of the nation”.
“As the Fourth Estate of the Realm, they need also to guard the unity and Freedom of Expression space for the promotion of democracy and not allow it to be usurped by charlatans for their own selfish ends” the NPP Flagbearer hopeful added.
Mr Alan Kyeremanten also commended winners of all the other categories, the executives and the organizing committee of the GJA for putting up such a wonderful event.
