Nana Osei Omari Obrempong II, Chief of Somsei and Group Director , Family and Friends Group of Companies in the Afram Plains of the Eastern region has emphasised on the need for the country to invest in aquaculture to help address the challenges of growing unemployment.
He said the country will be able to help solve the unemployment situation if much is done to get more people especially the youth into aquaculture.
Speaking to the media on the benefits of fish farming, Nana Osei Omari Obrempong II revealed it contribute a lot to one’s financial success and that can help grow the country’s GDP should government put down programs to make aquaculture lucrative to all.
The traditional leader however urged Ghanaians to consider aquaculture as it can improve their livelihood within a shortest possible time as compared to other investments that takes years to mature.
“I am calling on the Government to support the youth with capital and resources to encourage most of them to have interest in fish farming. I must tell you that it is a lucrative business that can make one rich within a twinkle of an eye” he stressed.
On the part of Ghanaians, Nana Osei Omari Obrempong II advised all to have the passion of engaging in aquaculture even if it is for consumption to help cut the cost of buying fish and meat.
“I have in my own little way supported a lot of people in the business so I will plead with others and cooperate bodies to do so to ensure most people also stand on their feet as persons with reliable source of living.
