Under the Northern Ghana Integrated Development Project funded by the European Union, ActionAid partnered with the Nanumba South District Assembly and the Department of Agriculture to sponsor the Best female farmer category of the District’s farmers’ day celebration.
The winner, Salamatu Dawuda is a 33-year-old smallholder farmer from Kanjo.
She has been into farming for many years and currently has a 12-acre maize farm, 5-acre yam farm, 3-acre cassava farm, and a poultry of 180 fowls.
The items presented were a sprayer, wellington boots, a refrigerator, a piece of cloth, a cutlass, and a certificate

The 2022 38th edition of the National Farmers Day celebration was held on Friday 2nd December 2022 with the national event coming off in Koforidua.
